Mission accomplished! Now that we are entering the third year with our Authentic Roof we are pleased to conclude that it has accomplished everything we had hoped for.

Dear Sirs,
We wanted a maintenance free roof that will last for the life of our house and yet can be walked on when necessary for the inspection and service of chimneys, vents, fans and other things that require being on the roof.  As an engineer, I am very confident that TPO is the right material for this application.  It will remain esthetically pleasing throughout its very long life and is dimensionally stable and tough through the necessary range of temperatures.  As well, the pine needles which stuck to the grit of our previous asphalt shingle roof and accelerated its failure no longer accumulate on the smooth surface of Authentic Roof slates.  Even the squirrels and raccoons that used to romp around our asphalt shingle roof, tearing at the grit with their claws, can’t get a good footing on the slates and seem to have moved back to the trees.

Beyond the performance of the roof, it looks great!  Our city has a rich heritage of beautiful slate roofs throughout its older sections.  This is a feature that is sadly missing in the newer neighbourhoods which have almost exclusively non-descript asphalt roofs.  Although only 20 years old, our home is a traditional style and with Authentic Roof slates we were able to incorporate some very classic patterns using Mitered Edge and Beaver Tail slates.  We even added a subtle hint of colour accenting with a few Paris Plum slates which match our red brick.  We are very happy with the appearance of the roof and know that this could only be accomplished with slate.  Hopefully others will join us in reviving our city’s tradition of beautiful slate roofs.

Sincerely,
